This style of cable is known within the broadcast industry as 'STAR-QUAD'. The 'Quad' format was originally designed for the transmission of signals through electromagnetically noisy environments such as studios, film lighting rigs etc. The cable comprises 4 conductors twisted around a centre PVC filament with an overall, helically wound screen and a Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket. This cable is equivalent to PSF 4/1M. Preferred colour code is Red/Blue (Hot), Green/White (Cold). |
